An Invitation: Be the Miracle
One small act. One honest moment. One quiet ripple. This is a gentle, seven-day invitation to notice how everyday kindness, presence, and sincerity can create real shifts โ not just for others, but within ourselves. This isnโt about fixing anyone or forcing positivity. Itโs about recognizing the quiet power we carry, even on our hardest days. There have been days in my life when I have felt deeply depressed โ a crushing, quiet heaviness with the whole world on my shoulders. The kind of day where it feels like thereโs a thick glass wall between me and the rest of the world. Iโm moving through life, barely, but Iโm no longer…

Unicorns, Care Bears, and Chronic Pain: How I Chose Joy at Northlands Music Festival
โHowโs your ankle?โ the guard asked as I hobbled back from the stage. My boyfriend and I had flown from South Florida to New Hampshire for Northlands Music and Arts Festival. The music lineup was a dream. Unfortunately, I arrived with a herniated disc. โMy ankle? My ankles feel great, actually! Thanks for asking! My back feels like shit, but you know what? Iโm just going to focus on my ankles!โ I was in a lot of pain. I couldnโt stand up to dance or walk for more than a minute at a time. But despite that, something beautiful happened. ๐ง The Shift: Mind Over Matter (and Pain) I had…

Dance Meditation: Unlocking the Power of Now
When I am dancing, I can let go and set my inner rainbows free. I canโt do that in the past.I canโt do it in the future.I can only do it in the Now. Now is my only access point into this world. It is where I step through the flaming portal. When I dance, I meditate by turning my awareness to my breath. I breathe into the movement – and out again. I cannot retake the last breath I just took, nor can I breathe a breath I havenโt taken yet.So when I focus on the breath I am taking and the movement I am making, it connects me…

Project Your Joy! Join the (Rainbow) Shadow Dance Revolution
The Spark: Rainbow Shadows in San Francisco My first experience with shadow dancing was at the Exploratorium in San Francisco in the early โ80s. My favorite exhibit cast my shadow in rainbow trails as I moved. It was, quite simply, pure magic. A New Vision at Orange Blossom Jubilee Fast forward to Floridaโs Orange Blossom Jubilee in 2021. โMike Threeโ had set up a large screen next to the band, projecting his psychedelic oil visuals onto it (video below). I stepped between his light and the screenโand just like that, my shadow dancing journey was born. It became an effortless way to project my vibe and joy outward in a…

Dance Your Bliss by Unlocking Your Flow State
I have trained my mind to get out of the way when I dance. Once my ego is released, my dance becomes a prayer. The chatter stops, and I connect with my inner self. In this state, I dance the divinity of being. I pull patterns and images through my mindโs eye. It is as if I am translating my spiritโs mandalas into movement. Here are a few exercises that I use to reach this Flow State: When I access the Flow State, my ego becomes translucent, and my inner being is set free. Bliss flows through me like an unstoppable river. When I am in this zone, the amount…

The Healing Benefits of Dance: Body, Mind, and Spirit
Dance has an innate ability to heal people. I am conscious of the power that dance has had and continues to have in my own healing. With dance as my guide, I discovered and continue to be reminded of my own Divinity. Dance is my vehicle between the physical, spiritual, and emotional realms. Dance, to me, is all these things and more. Here are just a few ways Iโve tapped into its intrinsic healing powers: ๐ฟ Chemically Dance has been scientifically shown to release endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin โ the “feel-good” chemicals that support mental well-being. ๐ Physically It enhances flexibility, coordination, and posture, while reducing tension and tightness. I…

From Struggle to Sparkle – Heal Yourself and Heal the World
โHeal yourself and heal the World.โ These are the words that came to me in a moment of clarity. Iโve done a lot of self-work since then. I have shed some bad habits, gained some healthier ones, and am standing on firmer ground. Using dance as my vehicle, I found my way home. I danced my way through divorce. I danced my way through weight loss. I danced my way back from addiction. So this is what I mean when I say that I am passionate about healing through dance. I dance my way to a place of joy as often as I can. When I do that, I want…

Dance Your Inner Light – Creating Magic with Flow Toys
I was at Bassnectar in downtown Miami when it happened. I had made the rookie mistake of wearing pants to an outdoor show in the Miami heat. In a bathroom stall, I tactically redesigned my outfit โ turning my hip scarf into a sarong and my psychedelic headband into a tube top. My blue and purple yarn dreads (crafted by Costume Goddess Carmen Katz) were suffocating me, so I heaped them on top of my head with a handful of rubber bands for relief. Then I saw her โ a girl creating the most beautiful rainbows with a fiber optic whip. It shimmered like a magical tail, with a sleek…
